A whole lot o stalking around the woods yesterday trying to identify game trails for my new cam. Still struggling to get my head around the motion trigger and off camera flag but in the meantime I’m working on a camera housing

Keep at it. The best place is where more than 2 trails intersect.

A lot of the folks I work with put out some of the inexpensive trail cameras in multiple spots to establish game patterns. Then, put out the big camera traps.

This is my plan I think, I’m got a couple of basic cams on order and wanted to get the lay of the land. Looked like an absolute loon walking around staring at tree stumps muttering to myself, “is that a hole” Image :)

Around here, foxes, rabbits, badgers and deer really. Also I lost my job today so plenty of time for walking around the woods (silver lining)

Don’t look like an animal hole to me maybe get a fox hiding out in there if it was desperate

Great suggestions for possible ways to start out in this post. Especially, setting some inexpensive trail cams around your woods to monitor your local wildlife. I use this approach, as well. It takes some of the guess work out. Jeff Dale at TRLcam.com is very knowledgeable and builds quality camera trap gear. Hearing excellent things about the latest Camtraptions sensor, as well. There are some worthy pointers in this Youtube video https://youtu.be/SLuFlsMey1w Looking forward to seeing your future posts.
