Found a den along the river that had some fresh otter sign, some looked like pups. Very rare to find an otter den where they stay for more than a night, they mainly just hold up in a den for the night and move on, but this time of the year and with pups they might live there a while. I set a camera up but not a good location so close to the river, plus the camera had to be too close to the den opening for a good picture.

If anyone in this group found a otter den I figured it would be you. Good luck with this one.

The steelhead are running now so think they are staying here so mama can teach the pups to fish. Lots of activity at the den and I'm sure they have a water entrance below the river bank also. Here are a few photos.

The first one is of Mama otter and the rest are of the 2 pups. Did have several pictures of a male going and coming, sometimes the female will set the male help raise them and also they can mate anytime during the year with different males.
