It is told that some lynx's are attracted by catnip oil, others not at all. This one that I aim for seems to be one of the latter. The Eurasian lynx is known for their large teritories, a male can have up to 4000 square kilometers territory, females a lot smaller- usually 200-300 square kilometeres. This makes the search for them, and photos of them- to quite a hit and miss. This winter have given me a special opportunity, with a young (probably second year) lynx, using a steep cliffside just near my home for resting during days much of the winter. But it has also taken me much of the winter just to find places where it walks regulary, and where cameras can be placed. I have had lots of "almosts"- and finally a few photos too. I will make a own thread with photos- it will contain photos mostly from commersical trail cameras, and until now just one or two from this dslr setup- I hope that is ok?
Now a long winter is almost to end, and I really hope for sucsess with this dslr setup before snow is gone- the lynx is a animal that matches the winter landscape so well.
I have now updated this post with link to the dslr-building thread,
