Here is a fresh set for Eurasian lynx. In front of the camera are two trails that it often walk, meeting. Not the best photos, but I did not want to put my own footprints in front of the camera, or close to the lynx's. The trap is a Nikon DSLR homebrew.

On a well used trail that should get you some nice photos, please share them with the folks on Camtrapper. Are you using any bait or lure?

Hi and thanks for comments folks. I have actually gotten quite a few lynx photos with my commersical trail cameras at another part of this trail this winter, and also two photos with this dslr homebrew. At the start I was happy just getting a lynx on a photo, but after a few greyscale IR photos with a blurry lynx on, and some a bit better- I was hoping for some colour photos too. So I started this dslr-build. That part of the trail where I did get my first photos is more like a small road, and was not the most photogenic setting for a lynx. So I moved to this part of the trail now, hoping for the big catch. A bit late, as snow is melting rapidly, and the lynx soon will be hard to track. But with cameras out there is always a chance!

@CharlieK: I have been trying Catnip oil in front of my camera, but the lynx seems to ignore that completely.

Interesting that the lynx ignores the catnip. I've been using vanilla extract as a lure; most mammals check it out but bobcats seem to ignore it. Our bobcats seem to make a circuit on a particular trail about once a week to ten days, but your lynx may behave quite differently.
